The two languages have similar spatial source for the development of progressive aspect markers, which verifies the evolutional road that languages have taken following the pathway from 'being from space to time'to 'the space-time interdependence'. However, the two languages have finally evolved into different grammatical structures in terms of their progressive aspect markers. The essential reason for such differences is closely related to the linguistic type and their national ways of thinking, namely, the particularity of spatiality in Chinese and that of temporality in English determine their differences of the progressive aspect markers.
