Buddhism was imported from India and the Han to Tibet during the period of Songtsan Kampu in the Tubo Dynasty. With the strong support of Tsenpo and the royal family, Buddhism had not been strangulated by times of ‘banned Buddhism'movements by the Tibetan aristocrats and Ministers, and not been squeezed down by indigenous Tibetan Bon religion, and eventually boarded on the status of orthodox religion in Tibetan society, and won a very high courtesy and noble status. Buddhism has had a profound impact to the Tibetan society.
