电视新闻评论通常分为两大类：一类是为电视新闻配发的编前、编后语以及节目主持人、记者的即兴点评，主要以口播形式出现。这类形式大量存在于《新闻联播》及各类电视新闻节目之中；另一类是电视专题评论，也称电视评论片，将活动图像、同期声、背景资料、字幕与夹叙夹议的评论报道词有机组合在一起，成为“形象化的政论”。
英语语境:
Generally speaking, there are two types of television news review: one type includes the extemporaneous remarks made by anchors and reporters as well as lead-ins and conclusions of the news, cheifly in oral form; the other type is television special review, also known as television commentary piece, which forms the so-called "visualised political commentary" as it gives both narrations and comments about the news story, organically interspersed with activity images, actual voice, background information and captions.
