电视字幕翻译是我国一个新兴的翻译领域。字幕翻译既具有其他翻译领域的共性，同时又有其独特性。字幕翻译在很大程度上受技术和语境的约束。技术的约束主要指字幕翻译受空间和时间的限制。作为文化交流的中介，电视字幕的译者必须充分注意语言的艺术性，并且需要采取以观众为中心的策略，以促进不同文化的交流，减少文化差距。
英语语境:
The translation of TV subtitles is a new field of translation which has both similarities with other fields and its own uniqueness. TV subtitling translation is in large measure constrained by technology and context. The technological constraint mainly refers to the space and time constraints. Therefore, the translators should pay close attention to the artistic application of language, and adopt the audience-oriented translation strategies in order to narrow the cultural gap and further the cultural exchange.
