社会认知是个人对他人的心理状态、行为动机和意向等作出推测与判断的过程，主要是指对他人的表情、他人性格、人与人关系和人的行为原因等的认知。社会认知的过程既是根据认知者的过去经验及对有关线索的分析而进行的，又必须通过认知者的思维活动（包括某种程度上的信息加工、推理、分类和归纳）来进行。社会认知是个体行为的基础，个体的社会行为是其在社会认知过程中作出裁决的结果。

英语语境:

Social cognition is the process, during which an individual make a speculation and judgement on others'psychological state, behavior motivation and intention, such as expression, characteristic, relationships and reasons of actions etc. This process is conducted based on individual experiences and his/ her analysis on clues, as well as on their thinking activities, such as information processing, reasoning, classifying and inducion. Social cognition lays the foundation of individual behaviours, which is the result of judgement during the course.
