汉语语境:
目前各种媒体的基本新闻手段或者说报道方式无外乎两种:“故事模式”和“信息模式”。“故事模式”是以讲故事为主的报道方式，而“信息模式”则是以提供“纯信息”为主的报道方式。我们的主流媒体尤其是党报，要更好地研究、运用“故事模事”，并根据其性质和读者对象，追求符合媒体本身情况的“故事模式”与“信息模式”的相对平衡。
英语语境:
Basically, there are two kinds of means for news communication or report methods: the ‘Story Mode'and ‘Information Mode'. The ‘story mode'reports news by telling stories; while the ‘Information Mode'reports news by providing mainly the pure information. Our mainstream medium, especially the Communist Party Newspapers should do more researches of how to use the ‘Story Mode'to present news and put it into practice. Meanwhile, the Newspapers should keep a relative balance between using the ‘Story Mode'and the ‘Information Mode'according to a Newspaper's characteristics and its readers.
