For a long time, the book GU Wen Guan Jian (Crux of Ancient Prose) has been considered to be compiled led by Lu Zuqian. But, supported by the postscript from an anonymous writer collected in the block-printed edition of Guan Shan Tang by Xu Shuping in the Qing Dynasty, and by analyzing the evident inconsistency between the writers, works and comments excerpted in the book, we can see that the book Crux of Ancient Prose owes its initial work of excerption to an unknown person. Lu Zuqian made some comments on the book before Cai Wenzi made some annotations in the Southern Song Dynasty.
