标签已成为很多网站关注的焦点，也是很多Web2.0工具的特点。用户自定义的标签归集到一起形成了一种用户派生分类法，或者称之为大众分类法，这是一种平级的分类方法，不同于那种自上而下，有严密结构的分类法和依赖于受控词汇的信息检索系统。有人提出，那些使用传统信息检索手段和系统的机构，特别是图书馆，应该把大众分类法纳入其检索体系中。
英语语境:
Tagging has emerged as the focus of several popular web sites, and is a characteristic of many Web 2.0 tools. User generated tags collected together form a user-derived taxonomy, or Folksonomy, which is a classification of juxtaposition, unlike the top-down, highly structured classification and information retrieval systems that rely on controlled vocabulary. It is suggested that users of traditional information retrieval methods and systems, libraries in particular, should incorporate Folksonomy into their search structures.
