The article reviews a series of studies associated with image and points out the difference between image rehearsal and mental rehearsal based on the basic features of image and image rehearsal. The relationship between image rehearsal and sports performance was analyzed and the view of considering image behavior as a kind of media or skill was presented. Furthermore, the methodological factors causing disagreement in research finding were examined and issues which needs to be considered in further studies were suggested.
