Statistical analysis methods are used to make study on the individual difference in staff s wages of some universities in recent years (from 1997 to 2002) and the factors that affect the increasing range and rate of the wages are also analyzed.The results show that the present wage system in universities is more a status wage system that is relevant to the title, post and rank, length of service and education level than a post wage system that is relevant to the position, contributions and duties.
