十八大报告指出，推进经济结构战略性调整是加快转变经济发展方式的主攻方向。当前，经济结构调整面临着人口老龄化程度不断加剧的这一基本国情，一方面，日益加剧的人口老龄化趋势改变了我国的人口结构，老年人在总人口中的占比持续上升，所以老年人消费规模不断壮大，这为老龄产业的发展带来了机遇；另一方面，人口老龄化导致劳动力的供给数量不断减少，劳动力的年龄结构不断老化，人口红利逐渐消失，这不利于劳动密集型产业的发展。因此，在人口老龄化日益加剧的国情下，调整经济结构已成大势所趋，我国要以社区服务业发展为龙头，加快相关老龄产业的发展，促进劳动密集型产业向资本和技术密集型产业升级。

Report of 18th Party Congress points out that strategic adjustment of the economic structure is the major goal of accelerating the change of the growth model. At present, the economic structure adjustment is faced with aging population. On the one hand, aging population will change the whole social consumption structure and promote consumption scale of the elderly. On the other hand, it will affect the amount of labor supply, labor age structure, and demographic dividend. This is not conducive to the development of labor-intensive industries. Therefore, we should speed up the development of aging industry, and promote the development of capital and technology-intensive industries, which is an inevitable choice for the industrial structure adjustment in China.
