Problem-based Learning (PBL) in medical education is the method of instruction which uses problems on clinical medicine to stimulate students'motivation to study and guide them to grasp the learning contents. Compared with the traditional teaching method, it has fundamental differences in its design philosophy, mode of implementation, evaluation system and actual effects. The management of PBL teaching process and the active creation of teaching environment and conditions are two key factors in ensuring the successful implementation of PBL.
