Based on field observation on the high education administrative system in New South Wales of Australia, the paper gives an analysis of its advamtages, including scientific administration of education, increased industrialization, popularized education, internationalized environment, leading role of scholastic power, and its shortcoming, which is being monotonous in administrative mode. Several experieces are then drawn on for revamping China's administrative system of high education. The author suggests substantive reforming efforts to be carried out in areas of personnel management, admission system, credit system, internationalization and development of privately-run university.
