J. Hillis Miller is a distinguished research Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of California (Irvine), Chairman of the international Literary Theory Association, academician of the American Academy of Art and Science, member of the "Yale School" of deconstruction, and honorary professor of Tsinghua University. Professor Miller loves literature and has been devoting his life to literary studies. During the past several decades, Miller has frequently participated in various academic activities in China to promote communication in the literary theory circle and comparative literature circle between the United States and China, contributing extraordinarily to the progress in world literary studies. At the 8th Triennial Congress of CCLA and the International Conference in Shenzhen, 2005, he was interviewed by Sheng Anfeng, guest journalist of Foreign Literature Studies and associate professor of English at Tsinghua University.
