In contemporary China, in terms of quantity and quality, self-sponsored study abroad has been acknowledged as the mainstream for study abroad. Evidently, the development of self-sponsored study abroad is affected by many factors like political, economic, social, and international environment. However, in contemporary China, the emergency of study abroad fever is closely associated with China's economic development as well as the development of the world economy.As a result of China's sustainable economic development, the income of the ordinary citizen has increased dramatically and certainly laid a solid economic foundation for self-sponsored study abroad fever. The large campaign of promoting international education also makes China regarded as a huge market for students'resources. It is believed that after China's entry into WTO, the development of China's economy will have more driving force. Consequently, the development of China's economy, especially the development of international economy will definitely facilitate the development of self-sponsored study abroad.
