Taking GATB as the research tool, this research investigated the status quo of 627 middle-school students'general aptitude. Results indicate that significant difference exists between boy and girl students. The only-child middle-school students are significantly higher in most of the aptitudes than the not-only-child students. Students at key middle-schools have higher GATB scores than those at other schools. Significant difference of general aptitude exists between arts students and science students. The general aptitude of middle-school students is positively related to academic achievement and can be used to predict it.
