英语语境:
During the period of the Tang(618-907 A.D.) and the Five Dynasties(907-979 A.D.), Su Jiang(lecture method of Buddhism), a Buddhist teaching lecture for folks to persuades people into almsgiving was held in January, May and September of the lunar calendar. Sujiang consists of preaching and receiving commandments. And they both have rituals in the lecture. Buddist scriptures, texts for lecture, Bianwen(a popular form of narrative literature flourishing in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), with alternate prose and rhymed parts for recitation and singing (often on Buddhistic themes)), and other types of Buddhist writings were taken as the lecture texts that actually could be used in lectures other than Sujiang.
