Researcher have used the successive approximation approach to study the optimized control of a class of nonlinear discrete-time systems. The following steps are taken in their study. Firstly, the problem with the optimal control in the system is transformed into a sequence of nonlinear two-point boundary value (TPBV) problems. Secondly, by constructing a sequence of linear TPBV problems, the original optimal control problem is transformed to a sequence of inhomogeneous linear TPBV problems.
