词汇是语言的基石，词汇知识是听说读写译等语言技能的基础，因此成为了影响阅读理解水平的重要因素。在国内外的研究当中，单纯针对词汇知识或者阅读理解的研究都很多，但是鲜有关于二者关系的研究。在仅有的这类研究中，绝大部分都是有关词汇广度，即诃汇量对阅读理解的影响的研究，且研究结果有很大的差异；有关词汇知识的深度对阅读理解的影响的相关研究则是凤毛麟角。

英语语境:

Vocabulary is the cornerstone of language and vocabulary knowledge is the foundation of language skills including listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating. Therefore, vocabulary knowledge becomes an important factor influencing reading comprehension ability. Among the researches at home and abroad, most of them were about vocabulary knowledge or reading comprehension but few were on the relationships between vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension. And even among such researches, most were about the effects of the breadth of vocabulary knowledge on reading comprehension and the results were not consistent. And the researches about the relationship between the depth of vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension were even rarer.
