According to the bioregionalists, local-based curriculum mainly demonstrates five thematic patterns: cultural study, nature study, real world problem solving, internships and entrepreneurial opportunities, and introduction into community process. The view of local-based curriculum in the perspective of bio-regionalism can enlighten us on our current curriculum reform, especially our rural area curriculum reform.
