根据职业训练局职员康乐会于2006年2月修订的比赛规则，羽毛球锦标赛的团体赛事将采用循环及淘汰制。初赛为循环制，决赛为淘汰制。每场赛事每队比赛五盘（三盘双打，两盘单打），每盘三局两胜的一队即胜出该盘比赛。每局采十五分制。五盘比赛次序是：双—单—双—单—双。胜出三盘或以上的一队为该场比赛的胜方。

According to the rules revised by VTC STAFF RECREATION CLUB in February 2006, team competitions of the badminton tournament will be on a mixture basis of round-robin and knock-out system. Round-robin system shall be used in the preliminary round whereas knock-out system shall be used in the final round. Each team shall play five games (three Doubles and two Singles) for a match. The team winning two out of three sets in each game shall win the game. In each set, there shall be 15 points. The sequence of play of games shall be: Double-Single-Double-Single-Double. The team winning three or more games will be the winning team of the match.
