本研究是探讨优秀垒球投手下坠球及上飘球的投球角度、角速度及准确性。研究通过实验研究了四位选手分别投三球下坠球及三球上飘球的过程，藉高速摄影机及数字摄影机撷取投球角度、角速度及落至好球带的影片数据，并经由Kwon3D影片分析软件进行分析，研究结果如下：垒球投手投下坠球及上飘球的角度，无太大差异；垒球投手投下坠球及上飘球的角速度，差异较大；垒球投手投掷下坠球之准确性较上飘球的准确性高。优秀的垒球投手投掷下坠球及上飘球应包括要有良好的投球角度及快速的角速度，且提升准确性减少失误，并在短时间内倾全力投出最快速之球，而达到投球的最大效益。

The research regards the analysis of outstanding softball pitchers’ drop ball and rise ball from the point of release angle, angular velocity, and accuracy. With the experiment process, four players throw three drop balls and three rise balls respectively; the release angle, angular velocity, and the placement of strike zone were recorded by using high speed camera and digital camera. Kwon3D software was used in the data analysis. The results of study has the following conclusions: First, softball pitchers’ throwing angles of the drop ball and rise ball have non-significant difference. Second, the difference between softball pitchers’ angular velocity of the drop ball and rise balls is significant. Third, softball pitchers’ accuracy of drop ball is higher than the one of rise ball. An outstanding softball pitcher should have good release angle and fast angular velocity to throw the drop ball and rise ball in order to increase accuracy and reduce error, and the pitcher should throw the fastest ball with full strength in a short time to reach the greatest benefit of throwing.

In baseball, a sinker is a type of fastball pitch which has significant downward and horizontal movement and is known for inducing ground balls. Pitchers who use the sinker tend to rely on it heavily and do not need to change pitch speeds as much as other pitchers do because the sinking action induces weak bat contact. Other pitchers normally change pitch speeds to achieve this effect. The sinker is much more often used by right-handed pitchers than left-handed pitchers citation needed.
